In this era of superstar DJs and fly-by-night, one-hit wonders, it is always refreshing to find a soul who’s paid her dues and never wavered from her belief in why she does what she does – It’s all for the music, nothing more, nothing less. Since 1988, one such female has been caring and confidently honing her craft and supporting the sounds she holds dear. J-Heart, was touched by music early in her childhood. Her father, an avid record collector in the ‘60s and ‘70s, opened her ears to the inspiring and adventurous sounds of classic soul, funk, r&b, rock, jazz, reggae and disco. These roots gave her the foundation on which she built her love of hip-hop, reggae and funk music – always conscious, always soulful.
